Marshall Ayres Bowen

Marshall Ayres Bowen serves as chief executive officer of Shield Land Stewardship Group and general counsel to Shield Ranch.  Marshall is responsible for the administration and conservation management of the legacy ranchlands belonging to the Shield-Ayres-Bowen family as well as the land and sustainably built facilities of the Shield Ranch Foundation. He also manages legal affairs for Shield Ranch and oversees advocacy efforts and governmental relations.  

Marshall serves as secretary of the Shield Ranch Foundation and secretary of the Shield-Ayres Foundation. He also serves as vice chair of the board and policy chair for the Texas Agricultural Land Trust.

Prior to joining Shield Ranch, Marshall was in private law practice in Austin, where his practice focused on appellate law, commercial litigation, and government affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas A&M University, a Master of Arts in theology from St. Mary’s University, and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
